New research shows that Asia is the continent that dominates the top 10 cities on Facebook, with Bangkok taking the lead followed closely by Jakarta. India as a country is growing significantly too, with Mumbai coming in as the ninth biggest city on Facebook.
In Europe, Istanbul and London take the leading spots. Going through the rest of the data, France, Italy and Germany make up the top five European cities on Facebook. Continued…

Instagram, dubbed the smartphone photographer’s app of choice, was recently acquired by Facebook for $1 billion and has over 50 million users, a figure that keeps growing. The site has become popular worldwide but specifically amongst iPhone users in the Philippines, Brazil and Turkey, as well as France, the UK, Italy, Germany, USA, Australia and Canada (to same just some of Instagram’s top countries based on usage). According to MasterCard’s Mobile Payments Readiness Index Singapore is the word’s most mobile payment-ready country. They are closely followed by Canada, the United States, Kenya, South Korea, Japan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and China.
