Latest stats for smartphone sales

Gartner has released their latest statistics for worldwide smartphone sales for the second quarter of 2013. The key takeout is that for the first time smartphone shipments now surpass those of feature phones, accounting for 51.8% of all mobile sales. Global smartphone sales rose to 225 million devices compared to 210 million feature phones, and the expected number of smartphone sales this year is expected to be 1 billion.
As you can tell from the table above, the top selling smartphones are Samsung, Apple and LG. Samsung also continues to be the top selling mobile phone manufacturer, followed by Nokia and Apple.
Android and iOS continue to be the top sold operating systems (Android accounting for 79% and iOS 14% of mobile sales). Windows has taken the third spot from BlackBerry, with 3% market share.
